International Museum Day at the Heinrich Art Collection

The Jutta and Manfred Heinrich Art Collection is opening its doors for the first time on International Museum Day—and for a full day at that: The museum in Maulbronn invites visitors to enjoy a diverse, inspiring program with free admission. The collection, which comprises around 400 works by Berlin artists, focuses on the 1970s through the 1990s—a period marked by political tension, cultural diversity, and profound social upheaval. Art from East and West meets here on equal footing: sometimes rich in contrast, sometimes surprisingly harmonious, but always as a living testament to German history. Many visitors will recall the era of the Wall, the Cold War, and the moving images of the border opening in 1989—all of which are reflected in this special collection. It is housed in a historic barn that collector and building contractor Manfred Heinrich transformed into a museum with great attention to detail. In 2012, he transferred the collection and building to his hometown of Maulbronn through a foundation. The museum has been open on Sundays since 2014—but International Museum Day now offers the first opportunity to experience the art collection all day long and engage in conversation with us. **Program on May 17, 2026** - **Starting at 10 a.m.**: Opportunity to speak with Regina M.
