Lecture Evening at the Nature Park Center: Dr. Michael Preusch will discuss the successful return of the peregrine falcon to Baden-Württemberg and present new taxidermy specimens. An informative evening on species conservation, ornithology, and experiencing nature. The Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park cordially invites you to a special lecture evening with an exhibition opening on Thursday, May 28, at 6 p.m. at the Nature Park Center. The highlight of the event is the lecture “The Peregrine Falcon in Baden-Württemberg – A Success Story in Nature Conservation,” presented by Dr. Michael Preusch, Member of the State Parliament. The speaker from Eppingen will discuss the impressive return of the peregrine falcon, which was once considered critically endangered and is now once again native to many areas thanks to consistent conservation measures. He will provide fascinating insights into the lifestyle, threats, and conservation efforts surrounding this captivating species of bird of prey. The evening also marks the opening of a new exhibit at the Nature Park Center: On display are high-quality taxidermy specimens of a pair of peregrine falcons with a nestling, impressively staged on an artificial rock, as well as the impressive specimens of a European eagle owl and a white stork. The peregrine falcons and eagle owl are a generous permanent loan from Dr. Michael Preusch and will enrich the nature park’s exhibition for years to come. In an age when children and young people know many animals only from their cell phone screens, lifelike specimens are valuable teaching aids in educational work as well as in nature and species conservation. Little known: In addition to his work as a state parliamentarian and senior physician, Dr. Preusch is passionately dedicated to ornithology. In collaboration with the Radolfzell Bird Observatory, he is involved in scientific projects to band falcons and owls in order to study their migratory patterns. The event vividly combines natural history, species conservation, and personal commitment and is aimed at anyone interested in nature. Following the lecture and discussion, there will be an opportunity to chat with the Eppingen state parliament member about nature conservation and ornithology over light refreshments on the inviting terrace of the Nature Park Center. Admission is free. The number of attendees is limited, so we kindly ask you to register informally at [mail@naturpark-stromberg-heuchelberg.de](mailto:mail@naturpark-stromberg-heuchelberg.de). The Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park looks forward to welcoming many visitors to this informative evening.
