The Cool Cats Orchestra plays swing and more—perfect for listening and dancing. An event celebrating openness, democracy, and diversity. **Jazz Initiative: To close out the season, by popular demand, “Dance for Democracy” returns on May 15, 2026** Following the huge success of “Dance for Democracy” at the start of last year’s Schlossplatzmusik, this event will take place once again on Schlossplatz on Friday, May 15, 2026. In front of the Palais Hirsch, people will once again dance passionately to swing and more, to the rousing rhythms of the Cool Cats Orchestra under the direction of Rick von Bracken. A good mood is guaranteed, along with the joy of dancing and a statement for democracy—where everyone can be and live as they wish, and where diversity is tolerated and valued. Many swing dancers from the region have announced their participation and will perform great dances like the “Jitterbug,” “Lindy Hop,” and more in authentic 1930s and 1940s outfits. But everyone is welcome to join in—the main thing is having fun and enjoying the community. Dancing is highly encouraged! Donations for the Schwetzingen Jazz Initiative are requested
