European Jazz School

Three musicians, five instruments, many stories: Trio Talan blends Persian and Kurdish musical traditions with Italian Baroque and jazz influences into a flowing soundscape between past and present. Hesam Asadi (vocals, Kamantsche & Daf), Francesco Cascarano (guitar, theorbo) and Claas-Henning Dörries (double bass) merge familiar melodies with free improvisations  sometimes calm and contemplative, sometimes rhythmic and powerful. A special, personal concert experience bridging European and Middle Eastern musical cultures  poetic, touching, and full of surprising twists. With their new album "Chiaroscuro," the ensemble focuses on the fascinating contrasts of its music; the trio will present the new pieces live for the first time in various concert venues in the spring.
