Kurverwaltung Bad Mergentheim
Kurpark, 97980 Bad Mergentheim
**A summer evening filled with music, lights, and joie de vivre**
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, starting at 3 p.m., Bad Mergentheim’s Kurpark will once again be transformed into a colorful setting for one of the region’s most atmospheric summer events. The Grand Spa Park Festival with Illumination invites visitors of all ages to a day filled with music, enjoyment, and summery joie de vivre. Three stages, over twenty food stands, a varied children’s program, and the traditional light display featuring nearly 15,000 colorful candles create an atmosphere that can only be experienced here.
Musically, the festival is as diverse as the park itself. At the music pavilion, the Bad Mergentheim Spa Ensemble kicks off the afternoon, before the youth band project JuMuKa and later the famos.Quartet take over the evening. The latter delights audiences with a distinctive mix of soul, pop, and timeless classics—from Ray Charles to Zaz to Elvis Presley. The Youth Symphony Orchestra also adds a special touch during the night, before the illuminated water features become a sparkling highlight around midnight.
At the Wilhelmbau, Denise & Tobi will first provide soulful and rousing live music, before the Trio Odalys heats up the summer evening further with rock, pop, reggae, and Latin sounds. Later, the World Cup third-place match will also be broadcast live here, adding an extra dose of sporting excitement to the festival. At the Kurhaus, meanwhile, the Joe Spaeth Trio and bocabo will take the stage—two groups that blend energetic rock and pop music with atmospheric, groovy live sounds, keeping the Kurpark buzzing late into the night.
In addition to the music, the festival offers a culinary journey through more than twenty different food options, ranging from regional delicacies to summer specialties. Families can look forward to a colorful children’s program that invites them to participate and explore at many locations throughout the park. As every year, a special moment for the youngest guests is the setting up and lighting of the candles for the grand illumination. Children between the ages of eight and twelve can participate; the meeting point is at 7:15 p.m. on the lawn between the Octogon and the Parkhotel.
When the entire Kurpark finally glows in a sea of nearly 15,000 lights in the evening, that unmistakable atmosphere emerges that has made the Kurparkfest famous far beyond the region. The colorfully illuminated water features at the bandstand conclude the evening around midnight with an impressive finale. Thus, the Bad Mergentheim Grand Spa Park Festival will once again be a summer highlight this year, uniquely combining music, light, and joie de vivre to delight visitors from near and far.
