About the all-encompassing power of art London, 2005: After many years in film, actress Dora is back on a theater stage - in her early forties, she can look back on a successful career. When she meets painter Victor in a bar after the premiere, she is fascinated: Who is this man who has never heard of her? Dora sees this encounter as an opportunity to hide: from her mother, who constantly calls from Frankfurt, from her agent who wants to convince her to take on different roles, and perhaps even from her unsympathetic colleague, who continually tests her boundaries.
After spending a few weeks together, Dora decides that Victor should paint her - but when she sees the painting, it pulls the ground from beneath her feet and long-forgotten memories return. What does Dora believe she has recognized in the image? ›Final Act‹ masterfully showcases the interplay of life and art and sensitively tells of a liberation that changes everything.
