KKÖ 3rd Excursion: Botany & Landscape History at Schienerberg

### **Hike 3: East of Öhningen: Klingenbach Gorge, Kattenhorner Bühl** **Sunday, July 12, 11:00 a.m. Meeting point: on the Öhningen–Bruderhof road below the Linsenbühlhof** **Duration: approx. 3 hours Distance: approx. 8 km Led by Prof. Dr. Manfred Rösch** **Please register at least 24 hours in advance **at Manfred-Roesch@t-online.de. A minimum of 3 participants is required! ** **Route:** Klingenbach Gorge – Bruderhof – Aspenhof – Kattenhorner Bühl – Return via Klingenbach Gorge. At Kattenhorner Bühl, numerous orchids and other species can be expected, including the lesser butterfly orchid (Platanthera bifolia), the fragrant orchid (Gymnadenia conopsea), the burnt orchid (Orchis ustulata), Military orchid (Orchis militaris), Purple orchid (Orchis purpura), Early purple orchid (Orchis mascula), and Large-flowered orlaya (Orlaya grandiflora). **Additional excursions:** - 4th excursion, August 23: northeast of Öhningen – Schrännen, Aspenholz, Bihler Moos 1st excursion, September 13: Endorf – Kattenhorn – Oberstaad This route offers a rich variety of flora on limestone soils, especially in early and late summer, making it ideal for botanical observations and orchid enthusiasts.
