Guided tour of the Heinrich Art Collection with art historian Dr. Elke Pastré

**What makes this art collection so special? How did such a diverse array of artworks from Berlin and Dresden find their way to tranquil Maulbronn? What historical events inspired the artists to create their expressive works?** Art historian Dr. Elke Pastré specializes in the 20th and 21st centuries and uses selected works to showcase the various styles of modern art movements. By focusing on a regional art scene as well as on works from the 1980s to the present, a collection of remarkable quality and depth has emerged. The museum displays works by the “Junge Wilde” (Young Wild Ones), a group of artists who played a formative role in the art world in the 1980s. Of particular note are large-format canvases by Reiner Fettig, Salomé, and Bernd Zimmer. Works by Wolfgang Petrick are also on display, as well as pieces by his students, including Heike Ruschmeyer and René Wirths, who were able to develop new, distinctive styles. In addition, visitors can discover artworks by exceptional and successful female artists. Dr. Pastré explains the background behind the creation of Cornelia Schleime’s powerful portraits, Helma’s mysterious landscapes, and Barbara Quandt’s exotic portraits.
