23rd International Low & No-Budget Film-Sharing Short Film Festival 2026

Open-air & indoor screenings at Inselspitze For 17 years, a subcultural cinematic highlight in Heilbronn. Heilbronn’s only independent short film festival. In cooperation with the Cultural Office and Inselspitze Heilbronn, we showcase the best international short films—selected by the audience and the jury—highlighting what the independent short film scene has to offer from approximately 4,000 submissions each year. There are no themes—the only thing that matters is that the short films—each in its own right—provide good entertainment and thus highlight a little-noticed but fantastic, creative, and vibrant category: the short film. Funny, varied, entertaining, exciting, and thought-provoking short films full of wild ideas. From animations to mini-films, stop-motion, mockumentaries, dramas, and even bad-taste trash—it’s all here. You’ll get to see 21 short films (split into roughly two 60-minute sessions), the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else, in a cozy and relaxed festival atmosphere at a particularly beautiful and central location in Heilbronn: The INSELSPITZE between the two arms of the Neckar River below the Friedrich-Ebert Bridge. A real summer highlight! And in case of bad weather, the exhibition halls are also available and offer plenty of space indoors to enjoy the films.
