Berlin-based magician Alexander Merk returns with his NEW solo show, “How I Didn’t Become a Magician.” The German Master of Magic combines magic, storytelling, and humor into an evening exploring truth, deception, and the joy of wonder.
What is true, what is illusion? In his show “How I Didn’t Become a Magician,” Alexander Merk, German Master of Magic, takes you on a humorous and magical journey through his supposed path to becoming a magician. But one thing is certain: the stories he tells are just as inexplicable as the miracles he performs on stage.
From a mysterious lamp from his days as an electrician to bizarre incidents in a general store, all the way to a magical drink from his past as a bartender—every episode of this show sparkles with magic and surprise. Alexander reads minds, makes things disappear and reappear, and even weaves musical moments into his magic.
“How I Didn’t Become a Magician” is a charmingly crazy mix of stories, magic, and humor. Magician Alexander Merk captivates with his creative style, fascinates with masterful tricks, and leaves his audience in awe, laughing, and wondering: Could that really have happened?
The Berlin-based artist is a member and multiple award winner of the Magic Circle of Germany.
At the German Magic Championships, he won the overall title in the General Magic category; at the World Championships in Blackpool, he was voted among the top 10 magicians in the world and has already appeared as a guest on Penn & Teller’s “Fool Us” in Las Vegas (USA).
In Waiblingen, he presents a show that doesn’t sell magic as a slick spectacle, but as a play on imagination, the joy of storytelling, and the simple question:
Could that really have happened?
