World-renowned conductor Daniel Dareus returns to his native Swedish village after suffering a severe breakdown. He had actually intended to withdraw from the world, but when he takes on the role of cantor, his passion for music helps him reconnect with people. As he works with the small community’s diverse choir, a whole microcosm of human worries and hardships gradually unfolds before him, and he is overjoyed when he realizes that, with the help of music, he is finding a way into the hearts of others. This is the fulfillment of the dream that had led him to leave this area decades ago.
