Cordoba78 is the most exciting newcomer band that Austria currently has to offer – and they know exactly how to turn a club into a stadium. Sweaty shirts, oversized suits, guitar solos like from the last century. Sometimes it sounds like the end of a party, sometimes like the beginning of something truly great. Most of the time, it’s both.
What started as a jam session in the rehearsal room has become one of the most thrilling band stories in the German-speaking world in just two years: 60 live shows in the summer of 2026, support for Ennio, Betterov, and Sportfreunde Stiller – and in the fall, their first own tour through 15 cities.
"We're not a Vienna band," says singer Carlo. "We come from a small town. Because it proves that smart, loud, leftist music can come from there too." Behind the sound are: Carlo Giulio Sossella (vocals), Tobias Fussenegger (guitar), Paul Pichler (piano), Georg Pinter (bass), and Alex Fetz (drums) – somewhere between indie, pop, and cathartic megalomania. Roaring blues guitar, soulful piano, stadium melancholy. A collective ecstasy with substance.
Their debut album AFTERHOUR KALTENBRUNNEN will be released on July 31, 2026, and they will take it on tour: 14 songs about intoxication and hangovers, anger and love, after-hours and the fleeting happiness in between – born from nights between Vienna, Vorarlberg, and from people who stay and those who must be let go.
Cordoba78 has big plans for 2026. And you definitely shouldn’t miss it.
