Cordoba78 is the most exciting newcomer band that Austria currently has to offer – and they know exactly how to turn a club into a stadium. Sweaty shirts, oversized suits, guitar solos straight out of the last century. Sometimes it sounds like the end of a party, sometimes like the beginning of something truly great. Most of the time, it's both. What started as a jam session in the rehearsal room has become one of the most thrilling band stories in the German-speaking world in just two years: 60 live shows in the summer of 2026, support for Ennio, Betterov, and Sportfreunde Stiller – and in the fall, their first own tour through 15 cities. "We're not a Viennese band," says singer Carlo. "We come from a small town. Because it proves that smart, loud, leftist music can come from there too." Behind the sound are: Carlo Giulio Sossella (vocals), Tobias Fussenegger (guitar), Paul Pichler (piano), Georg Pinter (bass), and Alex Fetz (drums) – somewhere between indie, pop, and cathartic megalomania. Roaring blues guitar, soulful piano, stadium melancholy. A collective ecstasy with ambition. Their debut album AFTERHOUR KALTENBRUNNEN will be released on July 31, 2026, and they will take it on tour: 14 songs about intoxication and hangovers, anger and love, after-hours and the fleeting happiness in between – born from nights spent between Vienna, Vorarlberg, and from people who stay and those who must be let go. Cordoba78 has big plans for 2026. And you definitely shouldn't miss it.
