May 2026: May Dazzle
When the light returns and nature blooms anew, our feelings also come alive. May stands for the awakening of spring and love in its many facets.
Even in the Middle Ages, May was celebrated as a time of courtly love. Yet love was never just a courtly ideal; it also encompassed hidden or resistant, queer desires. May Dazzle means the courage to be visible – and the willingness to be touched. Love involves not only romantic promises, but also its pain. Neurobiologically, being in love is akin to a high: neurotransmitters enhance euphoria and bonding – and at the same time make one vulnerable. Alongside passion, there is also friendship, trust, shared experiences, as well as compassion – empathy, care, and solidarity.
Our events explore these facets – historically and presently, poetically and scientifically, romantically, queerly, and supportively – and invite you to rediscover May as a time of intense movement in heart and community.
