"Energiewende" translates to "energy transition" in English. It refers to the ongoing process of transitioning from fossil fuel-based energy systems to renewable energy sources in order to achieve sustainability and reduce carbon emissions.

Energy is the engine of modern societies, and our demand for it is greater than ever. We use it for smartphones, household appliances, and the production of goods. However, the advancing climate crisis and increasing environmental damage require a change in thinking: How can we make our energy consumption more sustainable? Changes in the world of work also play a crucial role in this. The exhibition "ENERGY TRANSITION – RACE AGAINST TIME" presents innovative pathways for a climate-friendly future. The exhibition invites visitors to experience the world of energy on an interactive journey – featuring items from the Technical Museum's collection, hands-on stations that provide insights into professional fields driving the energy transition, as well as best-practice examples from research and industry. This makes the energy transition tangible and offers visitors guidance and knowledge to actively engage.
