Starting July 3, 2026, the church square in front of St. Othmar in Mödling will once again transform into an atmospheric theater stage: The Sommertheater Mödling association presents this year Oscar Wilde's famous comedy "Bunbury – The Importance of Being Earnest" – a masterpiece full of wit, charm, and social commentary. Oscar Wilde elegantly balances clever entertainment, fine social criticism, and heavenly absurd moments.
The approximately 90-minute performance will be directed without an intermission by Nici Neiss. A modern high-tech microphone system ensures crystal-clear sound for every seat, while the rising tiers guarantee excellent views of the action. Since 2007, the Sommertheater Mödling has delighted thousands of visitors year after year and has long become a cultural success story well beyond the city limits. More than 80,000 guests have been welcomed so far.

Start at 7:30 PM – End around 9:00 PM – no intermission. In case of bad weather, the performance will take place in the Europahalle, Lerchengasse 18, 2340 Mödling.
