Public Viewing: Football World Cup

If the alarm clock rings earlier than usual in Seiersberg-Pirka, there’s a good reason for it: On June 17, 2026, the main square will become a meeting point for everyone who wants to watch the World Cup kickoff of Austria together. Doors open at 5:30 AM, and at 6:00 AM, the broadcast of Austria vs. Jordan will be shown on the big screen. Admission is free. Right in the town, directly at the municipal office, a calm and sociable football morning will take shape. Snacks and drinks will be available an hour before the event and for another hour after the game, at fair prices. Coffee, light refreshments, and selected wines for later in the morning will complement the offerings. This way, public viewing in the Graz region doesn’t feel like a large event but rather like a gathering in the square, which fits well here. Getting there is easy. The bus connection goes directly to the municipal office, almost right in front of the screen. Those arriving by car will find the entrance to the underground garage right in front of the main square. About 50 parking spaces are available there; the first hour is free, and after that, parking costs €1.50 per hour. Another good option is the free Park & Ride area behind the Red Cross.
