Award Ceremony for the Mondseeland Poetry Prize

Invitation to the ceremonial award of the 13th Poetry Prize of the Mondsee region in the Prince's Room of Mondsee Castle on June 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The jury awarded this prestigious prize, which comes with a prize money of €7,500.00, to Christian Filips in 2025. The laudation will be delivered by the winner of the Mondsee Poetry Prize 2023, Yevgeniy Breyger. The jury awards the Mondsee Poetry Prize to Christian Filips "for a cycle of poems that effortlessly bridges strict form and maximum freedom. For masterfully stumbling sonnets that do not shy away from intertwining Rilke reminiscences with so-called 'deadbots,' digital representations of the deceased that provide supposed comfort to the bereaved. Christian Filips adds a highly relevant reflection of the world through poetry, in verses that defy grief with a magnificent celebration of life and manage to articulate the existential without falling into solemn seriousness."
