Classical Ensemble

The Ensemble Classique is one of the most internationally renowned brass ensembles. The sextet was founded in 1986 in Bad Wörishofen. Since its highly acclaimed debut at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in 1989, the ensemble has performed regularly in major music capitals around the globe. Guest appearances at festivals such as the Rheingau Music Festival, the International Salzburg Festival Summer, and the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival have further solidified the group’s outstanding reputation. In addition, the ensemble performs numerous open-air, castle, and church concerts, as well as television appearances. Exclusive CD recordings for major labels such as Sony Classical and Universal Classical also underscore the ensemble’s international significance. Ensemble Classique is particularly appreciated for its homogeneous sound, technical virtuosity, and wide stylistic range. The soloistic qualities of the individual musicians combine in their ensemble playing to create a distinctive sound. Arrangements by trombonist Peter Seitz and compositions by former artistic director Winfried Roch shape the repertoire. In the spirit of Leonard Bernstein’s quote, “Let’s make music as friends,” the musicians always seek a direct connection with the audience, making every concert a special experience.
