Opening reception for the exhibition "Gentle Strength"

“Gentle Power” features works by Mella Warncke that straddle the line between figuration and abstraction—united by themes such as femininity, inner richness, and quiet strength. The exhibition is being held at the elegant Villa Benz, located directly adjacent to the Schwetzingen Palace Gardens. The exhibition “Gentle Power” by Mannheim-based artist Mella Warncke opens at Villa Benz in Schwetzingen with a vernissage on June 21, 2026. On display are both recent and earlier works that straddle the line between figuration and abstraction, linked by themes such as femininity, inner richness, and a quiet yet palpable strength. Characteristic of the works are multi-layered color palettes, expressive textures, and an atmospheric visual language that makes inner processes visible. The works blend harmoniously into the special atmosphere of Villa Benz—a stylish boutique hotel located directly next to the Schwetzingen Palace Gardens. In addition to original works, there will also be a small selection of art available for purchase. Mella Warncke will be present in person at the opening and invites visitors to learn more about the creation of her works and the ideas behind them. During the exhibition, visits are possible daily from 3–6 p.m. at the hotel by appointment.
