The evening not only marks Austen's 80th birthday but also the premiere of his new vinyl LP "Simply the Best" – an exclusive live recording of his acclaimed performance from the Jazzfest Wiener Neustadt 2025.

The centerpiece of the event is the show "The Musical Life of a Lucky Star." Dynamic projections featuring photographs from his global journey bring the past to life and invite the audience to accompany the artist on an emotional journey through his eventful life. He himself fittingly refers to himself and his musical career as a "Lucky Star." Musically, Austen interprets timeless classics from the "Great American Songbook" in the style of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Nat King Cole. The elegance of the swing era, anecdotes from his life, and a healthy dose of Viennese charm intertwine to create an unforgettable experience.

Austen is accompanied by "Jazzkapelle.at," a perfectly coordinated team – with Thomas Zech on guitar, Thomas Barth on piano, Peter Strutzenberger on double bass, and Wolfgang Wehner on drums – whom the celebrant honors as his personal "Simply the Best" ensemble.

Mediterranean flair and captivating female power are guaranteed by the performance of special guest Loredana Iadicicco. Her singing reflects the heritage of Naples, bringing its vibrant spirit directly to the stage. Their musical paths first crossed in the Vienna city center bar "Drakon," where their joint performances regularly take place before enthusiastic fans.
