"Waves Tour 2027" Ami Warning's new album "Wellen" combines minimalist soul with warm intimacy, lightness, and a deep longing for the perfect moment. The very first lines of the album symbolize her sun-drenched, organic sound and positive DIY attitude. In thirteen songs, the Munich-based artist tells stories about the waves of life: growing up and aging, interpersonal closeness, farewells, new beginnings, and the feeling of coming home. Amidst sensual guitars, gentle choirs, and relaxed grooves, an album unfolds that is full of warmth, courage, and emotional honesty.
The creation of "Wellen" coincided with one of the most intense phases of her life. In early 2025, Ami Warning became pregnant for the first time, while still performing on stage with her father, Wally Warning. Shortly thereafter, a severe cancer diagnosis shook the family; Wally Warning passed away in September 2025, just weeks before the birth of his granddaughter. These contrasts are palpably reflected in the album: joy of life and sorrow, hope and transience lie close together. The songs navigate between lightness and melancholy, between "storybook weather" and "hospital beds," without ever losing their warmth.
Thematically, the album revolves around family, upbringing, and the passing down of values across generations. Musically, Ami remains true to her intuitive, handcrafted style. Most of the songs were created at home on the guitar, influenced by pop, reggae, indie, and Latin sounds. Particularly personal are the title track "Wellen," which processes the farewell to her father, and the concluding "Heim kommen" - a reconciliatory conclusion about change, family, and togetherness.
In spring 2027, she will also bring the new album to the stage on an extensive tour - a stop in Vienna is a must.
