Südring 207, 9020 Klagenfurt
When thousands of young athletes from over 30 nations enter the stadium together, flags are carried through the arena, drums set the rhythm, and the entire stadium is immersed in a sea of lights, it is clear: it is United World Games time!
From June 19 to 21, 2026, the United World Games will once again transform Carinthia into an international meeting point for sports, friendship, and lived connections between nations. Over 8,000 participants from around the world will create a unique Olympic atmosphere, not just for athletes, but for all visitors.
The grand opening ceremony on Friday, June 19, at the Wörthersee Stadium will be an emotional highlight of the anniversary event and is accessible to everyone. A spectacular show of music, dance, acrobatics, and international imagery will make the spirit of the United World Games visible and tangible.
This year, among others, the following will be participating:
- Tanzkult Austria
- Carinthian Drumline
- dancepoint.klagenfurt
- the Carinthian Eagles Cheerleaders
- Johannes Kircher live on saxophone
- the Klagenfurt flag throwers
- DJ Mayor
- a large fire show
- BMX and gymnastics acrobatics of the highest caliber
A special highlight will once again be the parade of participating nations: that moment when hundreds of children and young people enter the stadium with their national flags, making Klagenfurt the center of the international world of grassroots sports for one evening.
For two decades, the United World Games have stood for much more than medals and results. They represent encounters, friendships, and the belief that sports connect people—regardless of origin, language, or culture. This feeling is to be made accessible to everyone again in the anniversary year.
"The Olympic feeling does not belong only to competitive sports," is one of the central messages of the United World Games. And this will be evident at the opening ceremony: goosebump moments, emotions, and international community right in the heart of Carinthia.
Therefore, the organizers invite not only sports fans but everyone from near and far, families, children, and visitors to become part of this special anniversary and to experience an evening that uniquely combines sports, show, and international encounters.
20 years of United World Games—a celebration of youth, diversity, and sports. And an experience that must be experienced live. So be there at the opening ceremony on June 19, 2026, at the Wörthersee Stadium!
