Public tour of the exhibition "RECTO VERSO" by Christian Holze

**Free admission with Sabine Sprinz** With *Recto Verso*, Christian Holze presents, as part of KUNST im pavillon, an impressive, large-scale installation combining painting, sculpture, and objects. Historical fragments, digital imagery, and art-historical references merge into hybrid forms that straddle the line between original and reproduction. Holze invites the audience to rediscover questions of memory, authorship, and aesthetic significance. The Weingarten Basilica serves as an atmospheric historical backdrop, whose visual language is translated into surprising contemporary contexts. Parallel to the exhibition in the pavilion, the sculpture “Eightfold Pietà, Buried and Unearthed” is on view in the basilica. This creates a two-part exhibition experience spanning history and the present, sacred space and contemporary intervention. Christian Holze, born in 1988 in Naumburg, studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig, the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg. As a Kaiserring Fellow of the City of Goslar, he was awarded one of the most prestigious grant programs for contemporary art. His works are included in public and private collections.
