Church comedy in two acts by Alistair Beaton and Dietmar Jacobs Bishop Konrad Glöckner's small diocese is regarded in Rome as a model of moral integrity. Scandals are unknown, resignations from the church are rare and that is why the Pope is planning to spend the night there. But shortly before the 700th anniversary, Emma Lind shatters the idyll. She discovers a photo of her mother with a man who must be her father and recognizes Glöckner in it. Evidence suggests that he is alive and has been secretly sending money. Emma seeks him out to find out the truth. Initially unsuspecting, he is friendly towards her. But when she confesses to stealing his cap in order to have a paternity test carried out and shows him the evidence, he has no more excuses. Emma gives the bishop a 24-hour ultimatum, while Vicar General Koch is determined to cover up the scandal at all costs, even though the Pope's visit is already creating enormous pressure. When a Vatican envoy also wants to examine the archive, the truth threatens to finally come to light - exacerbated by Emma, who refuses to be fobbed off with hush money.
