Algol, the "Demon Star," originally Arabic Al-Ghul meaning "Demon Head," is considered a harbinger of danger. In fact, two stars orbit each other, periodically obscuring each other's light, which causes their brightness to fluctuate, something stargazers perceived as uncertainty and threat. And even though these three experimental improvisers never obscure each other's light, the ominous nature fits well with the microtonal music created by Peruvian flutist and aerophone maker Camilo Ángeles, Austrian keyboardist Elias Stemeseder, and German drummer Christian Lillinger. Their debut album, recorded in Mexico City, drones dramatically and dynamically, "structures emerge and dissolve within a continuum that eludes any stylistic categorization." A dream, a demonic one.
