Growing up between the suburban belt and the big city, Laurenz Nikolaus tells stories of young love, escaping everyday life, and the beautiful decay of old buildings. His sound moves between Austropop and indie, somewhere between Hirsch, Voodoo Jürgens, and a hint of Beirut.
With direct, lovingly twisted lyrics, he writes about Tinder dates, rain-soaked streets of Vienna, broken hearts, and finding oneself again. Honest, slightly melancholic, yet surprisingly carefree, Laurenz Nikolaus keeps Austropop vibrantly alive in a contemporary way. His band emerged from years of friendship, and his musical journey began in a brass band. Today, he stands for music with heart, attitude, and the soul of Vienna.
