Anton Bruckner remains the great unknown among the composers of the 19th century, even in the year following the international celebrations of his 200th birthday. This applies both to the distorted image of his personality shaped by anecdotes and clichés. Markus Poschner, unfortunately departing chief conductor of the Bruckner Orchestra and a prominent Bruckner interpreter, and Jan David Schmitz, former program director of the Brucknerhaus, will approach Anton Bruckner's eleven symphonies in a conversation with Karin Wagner on this evening. It promises to be an entertaining dialogue, easily understandable for music enthusiasts, bridging theory and performance practice, and offering an unbiased perspective on the composer and his work.
