Buchholz Wine Trail – Guided Wine Hike

Guided wine hike along a section of the new Wine and Fruit Trail in Waldkirch-Buchholz. Originally scheduled for August 29, 2026—postponed to September 19, 2026 For organizational reasons, we are unable to provide a picnic basket for this hike. However, you are welcome to bring your own picnic. We’ll meet for a sparkling wine reception at 2:00 p.m. at the Buchholz municipal office (town center) and hike along the Wine and Fruit Trail. Along the way, I’ll introduce four wines from Buchholz wineries. Halfway through the hike, we’ll enjoy the picnic you’ve brought while taking in a wonderful panoramic view. Around 6:00 p.m., we’ll finish our hike back in the town center. **Included:** Guided wine hike (approx. 4 hours) Sparkling wine reception and tasting of 4 wines (0.1 l each) Mineral water for the wine tasting (it’s advisable to bring extra water) The wine hike requires a minimum of 8 participants. The registration deadline is three days before the event date. Participants will be notified by email three days before the hike. Group hikes can also be arranged for a different date. The two themed trails—one for wine and one for fruit—are designed so that they can be hiked separately or combined into a single, longer tour. While the Wine Trail leads up into the higher elevations of the Buchholz vineyard, the Fruit Trail takes you through the growing regions between the town center and the Elz River. You’ll learn interesting facts about viticulture and fruit growing, history, climate, and much more. Along the mostly well-maintained circular hiking trails, benches for resting and snacking—offering magnificent panoramic views—invite you to linger, relax, have a picnic, and play.
