**Tante Friedl** is a world-folk-roots duo from Berlin. With accordion, banjo, and two powerful voices, Magdalena Kriss from Germany and Dan Wall from New York State push the boundaries of European and North American folk music genres, captivating audiences with a dynamic and distinctive sound.
Through finely crafted and dynamic arrangements, they engage powerfully, critically, politically, and ironically with both lyrics and music. Their diverse repertoire—ranging from labor and protest songs to songs about love, loss, nature, and adventure—offers insights into other cultures, stories, and perspectives. In 2023, they won the Audience Award at the Freiburg Kulturbörse. Since then, the cultural organizers in Lauffen have been eager to book them: in 2026, it finally happened!
The **Gatehouse Irish Group** is known for its rousing musicality: with Rachel Garvey on vocals, Jacinta McEvoy on guitar and concertina, John McEvoy on fiddle and mandola, and John Wynne on flute and whistles, the band brings together some of Ireland’s most respected musicians. Their music blends sophisticated instrumentals with virtuoso vocal performances, moving ballads with lively dance tunes. Their sound is both deeply rooted in Ireland’s musical tradition and refreshingly contemporary. Their live performances captivate audiences with warmth, precision, and spirit.
