The speaker, Michael Stellmacher, has been actively involved in the housing project scene, working to professionalize the guidance provided to new initiatives—initially as a volunteer with the Mietshäuser Syndikat, and later as executive director of the Leipzig-based Haus- und WagenRat e.V. From its founding in 2017 until June 2021, he served as executive director of SoWo Leipzig eG, a local umbrella cooperative, and in this role helped develop five housing projects in existing properties.
