The Ebingen Chamber Orchestra Meets Spitzenklänge

Featuring the Ebingen Chamber Orchestra and violinist Simon Zhu This year’s symphony concert, titled “Ebingen Chamber Orchestra Meets Spitzenklänge,” takes place during the 10th anniversary year of the “Spitzenklänge” association. Following the highly successful concert two years ago featuring Simon Zhu, a former “Spitzenklänge” scholarship recipient, we have once again succeeded in securing the soloist—who has since not only been awarded the Paganini Prize but also performs worldwide—for a concert in his former hometown. He received his first violin lessons at the MuKS in Albstadt under Renate Musat, who recognized his talent early on and consistently supported his successful musical journey through Freiburg, Berlin, Salzburg, and Munich. His list of awards ranges from the Menuhin Competition and the Mozart Prize to, in 2023, first prize at the Paganini Competition in Genoa. As a result of this prize, his concert career has taken on a whole new dimension. He travels the world, performing with renowned orchestras under celebrated conductors in the world’s most beautiful concert halls. At his request, he will perform Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s Violin Concerto in E minor with the Ebingen Chamber Orchestra. After the intermission, the Ebinger Chamber Orchestra will perform Symphony No. 8, the “Great C Major” Symphony by Franz Schubert. As is tradition, the orchestra will be supported by wind players from the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra Reutlingen. The musical direction is in the capable hands of Martin Künstner.
