Baroque Concerto for Violin and Harpsichord

Along its western route is the secluded and idyllically situated Habsthal Monastery with its elegant Baroque church, where the **duo Annette Dorothee Weismann and Bernhard Fackelmann** will perform a Baroque concert for violin and harpsichord on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Weismann and Fackelmann, both from Stuttgart, have enjoyed long and successful concert careers. Their repertoire ranges from Baroque music by J.S. Bach to Viennese Classical music. The duo will present pieces including Georg Philipp Telemann’s Sonatina No. 1 in G major, Georg Friedrich Händel’s Sonata in A major, the Adagio from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Violin Concerto in D major, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor, Niccolò Paganini’s “Cantabile,” and “Spring” from Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Annette Dorothée Weismann studied violin at the State University of Music in Stuttgart and Hamburg and performed with internationally renowned orchestras. In the 1990s, she continued her studies with Aida Stucki—who also taught Anne-Sophie Mutter—at the Winterthur Conservatory. Since then, she has performed as a soloist and in chamber music concerts as part of a duo with piano or harpsichord. Bernhard Fackelmann, who discovered his love for Baroque music at a very young age, studied harpsichord at the Stuttgart University of Music. In 1988, he founded the ensemble Concerto Antico Stuttgart. In addition to his duties as harpsichordist with the Arcata Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Tübingen Chamber Orchestra, he performs as a freelance musician with various instrumentalists, singers, and choirs.
