Hammond Jazz Vibes

The audience is in for a special jazz concert featuring the Hammond Jazz Night Band, which is performing one of its rare shows in the region. Joining them is drummer Jörg Bach, who grew up in Albstadt and has been a regular member of the band for nearly 20 years. The band follows the classic Hammond trio lineup of organ, guitar, and drums, as popularized by jazz greats such as Jimmy Smith. At the center is the original Hammond B3, whose characteristic sound ranges from gentle to powerful. It is played by Reinhold Hettich, who brings the instrument to life with great expressiveness. Guitarist Rares Popsa complements the trio with a keen sense of feel and virtuoso solos, while Jörg Bach lays the rhythmic foundation with swing and dynamism. A special highlight of the evening is vibraphonist Joe Kenney, who adds additional timbres with his multifaceted playing. Musically, the ensemble moves effortlessly between bebop, Latin, and soul, blending these styles into a lively and varied concert experience.
