“...fills you up, heals, and looks good too!” – The principle of the cottage garden
The Tourist Information Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld cordially invites you to a natural history guided tour through the Raiffeisen Garden at the Raiffeisen House Flammersfeld on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Together with Peter Krahwinkel, nature enthusiasts will discover the plant diversity of the garden and learn interesting facts about native trees, shrubs, and perennials, particularly about their origin, benefits, and traditional uses.
The tours will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Duration: each 1 hour
The Raiffeisen Garden is barrier-free. Participation in the event is free of charge.
As the number of participants is limited to 12 people each, pre-registration is requested.

About the tour guide: Peter "Bum" Krahwinkel is a retired landscape gardener and serves on the board of the local heritage friends in Hammer Land e. V. for environment, art, and balance. In addition, he is engaged as a stream patron for the Seelbach Stream for the Hamm (Sieg) association community, is a certified tour guide, GeoLotse, and water ecologist for practitioners (University of Koblenz-Landau). He is also actively involved in nature and environmental protection, including with NABU and Greenpeace. He regularly offers seminars, tours, and lectures on a variety of topics.
