Eschach Hiking Marathon

**The Eschach Hiking Marathon** – 50 kilometers along the Eschach Trail from Aichhalden to Rottweil The Eschach Hiking Marathon on September 12, 2026 – the highlight for endurance hikers along the Eschach Trail from Aichhalden to Rottweil. The route covers approximately 50 kilometers and involves about 1,000 meters of elevation gain and loss as it winds along the Eschach River from the central Black Forest to the Neckar. The start is at the fairgrounds in Aichhalden; the finish line is in downtown Rottweil. There are two different start times: 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. There are 125 tickets available for each start time. Depending on walking pace and the length of breaks, the hike takes between 8 and 15 hours. Refreshment stations along the route provide the necessary energy. Participants can also refill their water bottles at the stations. The participation fee is €69 per person, including refreshments at the stations. The Eschach Hiking Marathon is organized by the Rottweil District in collaboration with the tour operator Adventure-Blackforest. The number of participants is limited to a total of 250 people.
