Few people are familiar with “architectural lettering”—inscriptions on buildings: striking and large, or small and delicate. They are more than just information added to the building; they shape its appearance and the public space.
Archigraphy refers to lettering on buildings—whether striking and large-scale or small and delicate. However, it is more than just information added to the building; it shapes its image as well as the public space and the urban environment. Ideally, they underscore the design concept and enhance the building’s impact.
For the exhibition “Archigraphy – Lettering on Buildings,” Swiss designer and curator Agnès Laube invited twelve design firms to present their work. The focus was on three-dimensional and/or materially distinctive solutions.
