Join us on a linguistic journey through the Zülpich Börde, smile at regional peculiarities, and perhaps rediscover forgotten expressions.
Verena Krautwald, a linguist at the LVR Institute for Regional Studies and Regional History, looks at the dialects of the Zülpich Börde in her lecture “Det wohr rähch van innen” and explains the origin of numerous Rhineland expressions. The presenter demonstrates how dialects and everyday language intertwine, which peculiarities have persisted to this day, and how humorous, sometimes curious expressions shape our language.
