Little Red Riding Hood and Mr. Wolff - Open-Air Theater at the Water Castle

Badische Landesbühne Open-Air Theater Performance Panic in the Enchanted Forest. Mr. Wolff has appeared. He has emerged from the dark, dangerous Dark Forest. The inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest are terribly afraid of this stranger. And now the seven little goats have disappeared as well. Could they really just be on vacation? This spring and summer, the Badische Landesbühne’s Young Theater will bring Sergej Gößner’s modern adaptation of the well-known folk tale to stages throughout the region. Mrs. Eberle, Mr. Kleinlich, and the hunter don’t want Mr. Wolff in their forest. Only Little Red Riding Hood isn’t afraid. She asks if they shouldn’t talk to him first before judging him. Because what if Mr. Wolff isn’t evil, but lonely? On her way to her grandmother’s, she gets to know Mr. Wolff as a charming man in a top hat and scarf—and he isn’t nearly as frightening as everyone always says. With Little Red Riding Hood and Mr. Wolff, Sergej Gößner turns the well-known fairy tale and the prejudices against “the stranger” on their head, showing that the tried-and-true path isn’t always the right one. Tickets for the Badische Landesbühne’s open-air theater performances on June 30, 2026, in the courtyard of the moated castle in Bad Rappenau (in the Kurhaus in case of bad weather) cost 10 euros for adults and 6 euros for children for the children’s play “Little Red Riding Hood and Mr. Wolff.”
