As in previous years, the Bürgermusik of Bad Goisern will once again provide a musical treat after the ecumenical anniversary church service this year. Look forward to marches, polkas, and waltzes!

The Anniversary Celebrations with the Bürgermusik Bad Goisern - An Old Tradition

Every year on the second weekend in September, the Bürgermusik of Bad Goisern leads the round anniversary celebrants (starting from the 50th birthday) from the spa park to the war memorial. The mayor of Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt welcomes the Goiserer jubilarians here with a speech. A moment of remembrance is held for the deceased classmates by laying down a wreath. Following this, the festive procession is musically accompanied to the Protestant church for the service.

The Bürgermusik Band

The band was founded in 1834 with the purpose of "giving the celebrations in the village a fitting framework." The first appearance took place at the Corpus Christi festival in 1834. Therefore, the Bürgermusik is the oldest brass band in the Salzkammergut region. The brown uniform with felt hat and ostrich feather is derived from the Spanish court ceremonial.

The Bürgermusik consists of a total of 50 members and plays for religious occasions (Easter Sunday, Corpus Christi) as well as for secular events (morning concerts, honors).
