In her lecture on the novel “Mephisto” by Klaus Mann, the eldest son of Thomas Mann, Irmela von der Lühe—a profound expert on the Thomas Mann family and Professor Emerita of Modern German Literature at the Free University of Berlin, trace the novel’s origins, composition, and impact.
The following evening, the film “Mephisto” by Istvan Szabo (1981) will be shown at the Cinema Schwanen in Stein am Rhein.
