Guided Tour of the City Archives

Open Monument Day: Guided Tour of the Bad Wimpfen City Archives To mark this year’s Open Monument Day, the Bad Wimpfen City Archives is opening its doors to interested visitors. During a free, approximately 45-minute guided tour, participants will gain exclusive insights into a facility that is not otherwise open to the public. Led by Dr. Sommer, visitors will learn about the responsibilities and operations of the City Archives: How are historical documents preserved? What happens to old files? How is the city’s written history preserved and made accessible to future generations? These and many other questions will be answered in detail during the tour—questions are expressly encouraged and may extend the duration of the tour on a case-by-case basis. Up to 5 people may participate per group. Participation is only possible after prior registration at www.badwimpfen.de; depending on availability, registrations may also be accepted on the day of the event itself.
