Making herb bouquets with the Nordrach Traditional Costume Group.

A tradition in honor of the Mother of God! A cozy afternoon with coffee and cake or a hearty snack. Blessing of the bouquets at 5:00 p.m. Hansjakobhalle. Invitation to a cozy afternoon of making herb bouquets! The Nordrach Traditional Costume Group is hosting its popular herb bundle-making event. Starting at 2 p.m. that afternoon, the group’s members warmly invite visitors to learn about the tradition of making herbal bouquets while enjoying a cup of coffee and a slice of homemade cake or a smoked bratwurst with farmhouse bread. Visitors will be given a clear explanation and demonstration of the art of tying a herb bouquet and the benefits of the various medicinal herbs and flowers. In honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on the Feast of the Assumption on August 15, such bouquets are made in many Catholic parishes. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase a herb bouquet for a small donation. The event will take place from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Hansjakob Hall; the blessing of the bound herb bouquets will take place at 5:00 p.m. The Nordrach Traditional Costume Group wishes all visitors a wonderful afternoon. Information for members of the Traditional Costume Group: Herb bundles will be pre-tied on the afternoon of the previous day. On Herb Bundle Day itself, the women of the Traditional Costume Group will be tying bundles starting at 9:00 a.m.
