Eight years ago, Selma Rose opened her own small theater: the Gelber Koffer Theater. Now, the old building on Turmstraße, where Selma's theater is located, is set to be demolished to make way for a shopping center.
Selma takes the audience on a final journey at the Gelber Koffer Theater. With great enthusiasm for performance, she provides a glimpse behind the scenes, slips into various roles, and shares stories about the lovable and less lovable people on and behind the stage, from the superstitious actress, the impulsive director, to the talkative audience member. But every show must come to an end. Is there an encore? Or is there simply no longer room for Selma's theater?
“Encore!” is a tribute to the world of theater, filled with humor and exaggerations, all containing a lot of truth. Leni Bohrmann plays and sings her way through the evening, transforming into various characters and presenting songs by Marlene Dietrich, Claire Waldoff, Georg Kreisler, Bodo Wartke, Max Raabe, and many more.
Text and performance: Leni Bohrmann. On the piano: Frank Schäffer. Directed by: Hedda Brockmeyer. A production of the Theater in der Kurve.
Advance ticket sales via Theater in der Kurve and the Buchhandlung Quodlibet
