Silent Reading Party – When you read together, you're less alone!

The ultimate way to slow down: with a book at Café Alma as part of the *43rd Baden-Württemberg Literature Days*. Wonderful—finally some time to read! Snuggled up on the sofa, a cup of tea by my side… and then: *ping!* Just a quick glance at my phone… and then another. And just like that, reading is over. Sound familiar? No wonder! We’re constantly on call—distraction is right there in our pockets. Yet reading is so good for us: It relaxes us, has been proven to protect against dementia, and bookworms even live longer! And because reading in company is *even* nicer, we’re inviting you to a Silent Reading Party. The idea is simple: Come alone, as a couple, or in a small group; bring your books (or borrow one there)—whether it’s romance or fantasy, a mystery or poetry, a light read or a classic. And then: turn off your cell phones, order a drink, open your book, and just read. At the beautiful Café Alma, everyone to themselves and yet together. Afterward, there will of course be time to chat and share thoughts—and who knows, maybe you’ll even find some new reading buddies here?!
