KBO—Lake Constance-Upper Swabia Chamber Philharmonic

The brand-new OEW Summer Concerts 2026 will feature the first-ever classical symphony concert in Sigmaringen by the Kammerphilharmonie Bodensee-Oberschwaben (KBO). Mendelssohn’s “Hebrides” Overture opens the evening with evocative soundscapes of Scotland’s seas, moors, and windswept mountains. This is followed by Carl Maria von Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 1—a Romantic masterpiece brimming with virtuosity, emotion, and dramatic tension. The program concludes with Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony, which evokes a vivid panorama of nature with birdsong, babbling brooks, and thunderstorms. A concert celebrating landscape, atmosphere, and the great classics. The soloist is Paul Moosbrugger, principal clarinetist of the Dresdner Staatskapelle since 2025. A native of Dornbirn, he is considered one of the leading clarinetists of his generation and has already performed with renowned orchestras. The KBO (Kammerphilharmonie Bodensee-Oberschwaben) brings together around 70 professional musicians from the Lake Constance region and has been shaping the musical life of the “Tri-Border Region” for over 30 years. Conductor Benjamin Lack is a professor in Graz, cathedral music director in Feldkirch, and choir director of the Bregenz Festival. Uta Babinecz, a violin teacher and experienced concert educator, will guide the audience through the evening.
