The pilgrimage and cemetery church is the oldest place of worship in the city. A Holy Sepulcher Chapel was added to the 15th-century main building—which had been remodeled in the Baroque style—in the 17th century, and the chaplain’s residence was added in the 19th century.
The originally Gothic St. Leonard’s Chapel in Laupheim underwent extensive Baroque renovations in the 17th and 18th centuries. It became a place of pilgrimage primarily due to a replica of the Holy Sepulcher dating from 1611. The guided tour focuses on the overall Baroque renovation and, in particular, the adjoining Holy Sepulcher Chapel.
