Exhibition "Artfully Arranged—Still Lifes in Dialogue"

The special exhibition “Sophisticated Arrangements! Still Lifes in Dialogue” focuses on the still life as an art form. It became established in Europe in the 17th century, particularly in the Netherlands, has continued to evolve, and remains popular to this day. A still life consistently offers valuable insights into material culture, everyday life, consumption, and values, while also playing with the idea of transience. It is always a piece of contemporary history as well. Inspired by interpretive texts, visitors can form a very personal connection with each painting. Not only art lovers and connoisseurs, but also those new to art and families are invited to explore this fascinating art genre more closely and to interactively experience the theme of “arranging.” The exhibition features not only still lifes from the foundation’s collection. Seven artists from the Frankfurt Artists’ Society also enrich the special exhibition with their contemporary works.
