Fascination Beer Barrel Rolling: Hermeskeil seeks the fastest barrel rollers in the region

On August 15, the Hermeskeil pedestrian zone will transform at 3:00 p.m. into an extraordinary competition arena. Under the motto “Fascination Beer Barrel Rolling”, the city of Hermeskeil, together with the men's ballet of KV Ruck Zuck, invites entertaining team competitions for women’s and men’s teams.

At the center is an original 50-liter Bitburger beer barrel, which teams must move safely and as quickly as possible over a distance of approximately 50 meters. The course first goes downhill for 25 meters and then uphill for another 25 meters. Here, not only speed counts, but especially skill, teamwork, and control over the barrel.

Each team consists of four participants. In the preliminary rounds, two teams compete against each other simultaneously. According to a tournament plan, the fastest teams qualify for the final round, where the winning places are determined.

Viewers can also look forward to great entertainment. The Hermeskeil city band will provide musical accompaniment with a concert in the square. The active members, the advisory board, and the men's ballet of KV Ruck Zuck will take care of drinks in front of the town hall. The culinary offerings are the responsibility of the Fischerhütte.

Attractive prizes await the winning teams. The first place winners receive 50 liters of free beer and 5 kg of skewered roast, the second place winners 30 liters and 3 kg of skewered roast, and the third place winners 20 liters and 2 kg of skewered roast.
Early registration will be rewarded: each participant will also receive a Bitburger T-shirt.

The event is organized by the city of Hermeskeil in cooperation with the men's ballet of KV Ruck Zuck and is supported by the Bitburger Brewery Group and Frank Ratzka Party Service.
