With The Schlager Musical – Off to the South, the audience can expect a musical comedy full of humor, holiday flair, and German cult songs. Around 50 hits from rock, pop, and schlager tell the story of three completely different couples who meet in a vacation hotel on the Italian Riviera – including flirts, misunderstandings, and plenty of chaos. Since its premiere in 2016, the production has delighted audiences across Germany and has steadily gained a growing fan base with its mix of music, comedy, and nostalgia.

In the elaborately staged show, well-known songs like "Anita," "Hulapalu," "He Belongs to Me," "Days Like These," "Only the Bossa Nova Was to Blame," "Damn, I Love You," "Madness," and "Major Tom" merge with an entertaining story about love, jealousy, vacation dreams, and surprising twists. With professional choreography, atmospheric lighting design, and a lot of enthusiasm, an evening is created that combines concert, musical, and comedy.

THREE COUPLES, ONE HOTEL, AND A WHOLE LOT OF TURBULENCE

At the center are six musical performers who slip into their roles with humor and great stage presence. There’s the young couple from the Ruhr area, Marina and Torben, who excitedly set off on their vacation only to soon meet the temperamental Resi. Her husband Michael, a rather reserved math teacher, discovers unexpected sides of himself during the process. At the same time, the glamorous Munich couple Anita and Jonny increasingly reach their limits – despite their shared love for champagne and luxury. Charming conflicts, emotional moments, and numerous highly entertaining situations arise from these encounters.
